Board Certified - Family Medicine
Board Certified - Obesity Medicine
I was born and raised in a small community outside of Houston, Texas, in a large, hardworking, and close-knit family. I studied biology as an undergraduate in Austin, Texas, before attending medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch. During medical school, I developed my passion for community health and building meaningful, long-term relationships with patients. I especially valued getting to know patients and their families over time, learning about their lives, understanding their goals, and working together to find solutions that fit their unique circumstances.
Knowing that I wanted broad-spectrum training, I found my way to Colorado for residency. I quickly fell in love with Colorado’s culture, outdoor lifestyle, and sense of community, and I’m excited to continue building my life and career here.
I have a special interest in metabolic health and have chosen to specialize in obesity medicine. My approach to care is grounded in the belief that every patient’s journey is unique. I strive to work against the stigma surrounding weight that has historically been present in medicine and to create a space where patients feel heard, respected, and supported. I particularly enjoy spending time with patients to explore complex metabolic concerns and other factors that influence health and well-being.
Outside of medicine, I love spending time outdoors with my partner—camping, running, biking, and exploring everything Colorado has to offer. I also enjoy traveling, going to concerts, cooking, spending time with friends and family, and, from time to time, getting lost in a good video game. I’m always looking for a new Colorado hobby to try!
I’m excited to serve my community in a practice where caring for patients is truly the top priority.
